The truckles are then rolled in freshly baked and crushed hops which gives this multi-award-winning cheese its unique flavour. This ‘bestseller’ is a perfect ‘all-round’ cheese.
Worcestershire Hop Cheese is a slightly unusual cheese made near Worcester. It is a cheddar with a distinctive taste, rolled in toasted Herefordshire hops. Consequently, the cheese is sometimes also known as Hereford Hop Cheese to some. Worcester Hop has a really tangy flavour and is really smooth and creamy. It is softer than most Cheddars but retains a distinctive flavour. The rather fiery and tangy flavour lasts on the palate for a while. Inevitably it has a slightly beer-ish taste and odour, which doesn’t seem bad to us!. People seem to come back to this cheese time and again, so it might be a case of getting up the nerve to try it, only to find yourself delighted with the result.
Full fat hard cheese made with pasteurised cows’ milk and natural rennet. Encrusted with toasted hops which give a pleasing edge to the flavour.
